Well Chippy has caught us off guard!! On Saturday she moved into another squirrel house closer to the food trays, water, mineral lick as well as trees, etc. Photos showed she was nursing but by late afternoon upon checking out her old house, nesting material had been strewn all over, the roof, porch and on the ground. I feared that her baby or babies had met their demise!! To my utter amazement, I spotted a small head poking out this am, with Chippy peacefully resting on the post above. Wow, what a surprise...I age the little one between 6 and 8 weeks old! So proud of her!! And what a mother she has turned out to be, fierce and protective. Will attempt to get video and more photos tomorrow. These were all taken through double panes of glass!! Unfortunately it does not open :-( Enjoy!
